Struggling for players once again, Wanderers were weakened compared to the team from last week even though players had returned from the first team. So they travelled to an experienced Barnwood side with just 11 players, but still pulled through to take the three points.

The away side started very well with a lot of pressure on the Barnwood defence, and the first goal came just 10 minutes in, Scott Banner and Dean Hankins combined for Pete Bull to finish into the bottom corner. This settled any nerves and Quedgeley never looked like conceding with Jordan Rouse and Tom Hughes winning everything in defence. And the lead was soon doubled through some good luck and fortune; Pete Bull’s in swinging cross was heading for the keepers hands but hit a hole in the floor to send the ball bouncing over him. The last defender managed to clear off the line but Scott Edwards was on hand to finish the rebound.

From here Quedgeley coasted through to half time, but the second half started a little different as Barnwood changed there system. Wanderers never really dealt with the change but managed to seal the win midway through the second half. A quick corner was taken and Scott Banner crossed in for Dean Hankins to volley home in spectacular fashion into the top corner.

The only negative from the performance came five minutes later as Wanderers failed to keep their clean sheet. A free header from a corner was judged to be handled on the line and Barnwood scored their penalty to give them a lifeline. But Quedgeley stayed firm until the end and almost added more goals as Scott Banner hit the bar and Jordan Rouse came close with a header late on. But overall it was another solid performance with the situation being tough once again.
